SmarterCuts Salon Celebrates Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, October 2, 2010

From the Town of Leesburg, VA – At 12:30 pm, on Saturday, October 2, 2010, Town of Leesburg officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for SmarterCuts Salon, located at 705 East Market Street, Suite C.  Vice Mayor Kevin Wright will be officiating.

SmarterCuts Salon owner Kim Dang has centered her business on a philosophy of personalized service in a clean and comfortable environment that is welcoming and affordable to everyone. 

SmarterCuts Salon offers a full range of hair salon and nail services, featuring Redken hair care products and OPI nail products.  Located in the Prosperity Center shopping plaza, SmarterCuts Salon is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday; and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. 11th Annual Oktoberfest & Volksmarch

South Riding Community is hosting it's 11th Annual Oktoberfest this Saturday, October 2 from 12:00-7:00 on the Town Green.

SR transforms it's Town Green into a local biergarten filled with incredible bratwursts cooking and cold brews to follow. Come dressed in your best Lederhosen and let loose!

There will also be the 1st "unofficial" Volksmarch starting at 11:30. It will be a quick 5.7 mile walk. Starting point is at the church parking lot across from the Town Green. Rain or shine come ready to celebrate!

Country Fair/Auction

Youth for Tomorrow's 25th Annual Country Fair/Auction is being held this Saturday, October 2 from 10:00-5:00 in Bristow. There will be hundreds of items up for silent auction, live auction and on the Blind Bid Board. The kids will enjoy the unlimted rides,games and amusements: Rop-A Phobia, Roller Coaster, Lazer Runner, Kiddie Ferris Wheel, Dual Lane Slide, Mini Pirate Ship, Air Jumpers, Twisters, Carousels, Bungee Bull, Obstacle Courses and more. There will also be a pig race and a petting zoo with exotic animals.

Sewing and Quilt Expo

The Sewing and Quilt Expo will be held this weekend at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly. It opens Thursday and will continue until Saturday, 10:00-6:00. There will be more than 150 booths on all things craft related as well as trunk shows, how-to's, classes, and workshops. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. King Street Coffee Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Scheduled for Friday, October 1, 2010

From the Town of Leesburg, VA – At 5:30 pm, on Friday, October 1, 2010, Town of Leesburg officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for King Street Coffee, located at 110 South King Street in historic downtown Leesburg.  Mayor Umstattd will be officiating.

King Street Coffee is located at the corner of South King Street and Royal Street SE, one block from the W&OD Trail, with an adjacent parking lot in the rear. Their menu features locally roasted beans as well as brewed coffee, favorite espresso drinks, gourmet tea, other iced cold beverages and freshly baked treats.  Visitors can linger in the indoor seating area or enjoy the front porch or garden seating.

Owner Kimberly Nevin and her husband Tom recently relocated to Loudoun County, bringing with them years of experience in the hospitality industry.
