“Androcles and the Lion” is a children’s play best suited for ages 8 to 13 although younger children will enjoy the high action, adorable lion, colorful costumes and setting. Running time is approximately one hour. “Androcles and the Lion” is a legend passed down from ancient Roman civilization. The story tells how the slave named Androcles befriended a ferocious lion by courageously removing a thorn from its paw. The play’s theme is be kind to everyone, even your enemies.
