Leesburg Farmers Markets Celebrate the 2013 Summer Season with Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

The Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative (LVHMC) will celebrate the opening of the summer Leesburg Farmers Markets with two ribbon cutting ceremonies.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, the Leesburg Wednesday Farmers Market will hold a ribbon cutting at 3:00pm.  On Saturday, May 4, 2013, the Leesburg Saturday Farmers Market’s ribbon cutting will be at 8:00am.  Both ribbon cuttings will take place at the Virginia Village Shopping Center on Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg.

LVHMC’s summer markets operate from the beginning of May through the end of October.  Hours for the Wednesday market in Leesburg are from 3:00pm to 6:00pm each week.   The Saturday market runs from 8:00am to 12:00 noon.

All of LVHMC’s farmers markets are “producer only” markets.  Vendors must raise, grow or produce all of the products they sell.  The markets offer produce, meats, eggs and flowers from local farmers as well as regional artisan specialities including bread, cheeses and jams.

LVHMC also operates weekly summer farmers markets in Ashburn, Cascades and Brambleton.  For more information, please visit www.loudounfarmersmarkets.org.
