Va. crews prepare for Monday's snow, wintry mix


LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- With snow, sleet and freezing rain on the way, Northern Virginia road crews are on high alert.  

About 2,500 plows are ready to go, as soon as the snow starts falling. 

"Oh no! One to three inches that's going to be bad. I have work tomorrow that is terrible," said commuter Clement Gyan.

School registration is underway for Tyson Corner’s new school, BASIS Independent McLean. BASIS Independent McLean will be Tysons Corner, Va.’s first, private school for pre-k to 12th grade. Va. altercation involving step-brothers ends in fatal stabbing


LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man is dead after police say his step-brother stabbed him during an altercation in Leesburg early Monday morning. 

The domestic-related homicide happened around 12:25 a.m., Leesburg police said. A woman ran into the headquarters of the police station and informed authorities of the stabbing. 

She led the officers across the street to the 0-100 block of Plaza Street in NE. Officers found Mario Robles, 27, in the downstairs area of the residence suffering from two stab wounds to his upper chest. Police found another man and another woman inside of the home. 

The investigation shows that Sergio Robles, 34, and Mario Robles were involved in an incident which then led to the stabbing. Police say the two men are step-brothers. 

Pastor: Couple in Leesburg murder-suicide were HS sweethearts


LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- Officials are investigating after a woman and a man were found dead in what Loudoun County Sheriff's Office believes is a domestic-related murder suicide. 

 

 

Man robs Leesburg hotel


LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man robbed money from a Leesburg hotel Friday night, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

At approximately 10:05 p.m., police say an unknown white male entered the Homewood Suites located at 115 Fort Evans Road NE and approached the counter and demanded cash.

Police say the suspect displayed a long barreled handgun and fled through the hotel's front door.

The suspect is described by as a white male, approximately 5'9", 130-150 lbs., with short brown hair. Police say he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark shoes that have white soles.

The Leesburg Police Department is asking that anyone who has information about this incident to please call us at (703) 771-4500.
