Actress Ashley Benson Kicks Off #AweSummer ::: 49-cent Slurpees all Memorial Day Weekend Nationwide

Actress Ashley Benson of hit TV show “Pretty Little Liars” and box office hit “Spring Breakers,” appeared at a Los Angeles 7-Eleven store to take the ceremonial first Slurpee sip of summer. 7-Eleven is kicking off the Slurpee season as the country heats up for summer this Memorial Day weekend. The convenience retailer is making summer #Awesummer with Summer Slurpee Days – a 49-cent medium-size Slurpee drink offer Friday through Monday, May 24-27, at participating 7-Eleven stores nationwide.

Loudoun Small Business Week is June 3-7; Special Events Planned

 

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors has adopted a proclamation in support of Loudoun Small Business Week, set for June 3 – 7, 2013.

According to the Virginia Employment Commission, Loudoun County is home to more than 7,000 businesses with fewer than 20 employees, accounting for over 85% of the total business population in Loudoun. In addition, there are thousands of home-based businesses located in the county.  

In conjunction with Small Business Week, the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development is co-sponsoring a series of events, including seminars, workshops and networking opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs.  Topics will range from “Banking Basics for Small Businesses” to “Find, Hire and Keep Remarkable People. ”

No Change in Leesburg Trash Collection Schedule for Memorial Day Holiday

 

Trash collection in the Town of Leesburg will not be affected by the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27, 2013.

On Monday, May 27, 2013, residential customers in the Southwest and Southeast Quadrants of Town, including South King Street and West Market Street, will have trash and yard waste collected.  Trash will also be collected for curbside commercial customers in the Historic District on Monday, May 27, 2013.  Customers are requested to place their trash at the curb after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, and before 6:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27.

As a reminder, the Leesburg Town Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

Village at Leesburg announced recently that Orvis, a national retailer of outdoor goods, has signed a lease for retail space within the 1.2 million square foot mixed-use project at Route 7 and Crosstrail Blvd.  Orvis will occupy 6,022 square feet of retail space on a parcel at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Crosstrail

The Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative (LVHMC) will celebrate the opening of the summer Leesburg Farmers Markets with two ribbon cutting ceremonies.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2013, the Leesburg Wednesday Farmers Market will hold a ribbon cutting at 3:00pm.  On Saturday, May 4, 2013, the Leesburg Saturday Farmers Market’s ribbon cutting will be at 8:00am.  Both ribbon cuttings will take place at the Virginia Village Shopping Center on Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg.

The artist lineup for the 10th annual season of the Acoustic on the Green outdoor summer concert series is now official.
