From the Town of Leesburg, VA – At 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, Town of Leesburg officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for Aiyara Thai Restaurant located at 5 Catoctin Circle SE, in celebration of their first anniversary.  Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd will be officiating.

“Please come join the Sermbhongse Family -- Noom, Apple, and Aunty Goong -- as we serve you authentic Thai cuisine,” invited owner, Noom Sermbhongse.  “We use fresh, locally grown vegetables from the Leesburg Farmer’s Market, along with fresh herbs and spices from our gardens to flavor our dishes.”

The name Aiyara (i-ya-ra) in the Thai language means “elephant”, a very meaningful symbol for loyalty, friendliness, good fortune and happiness.  To thank the Leesburg community for their support and patronage during this first year, Aiyara Thai Restaurant will be offering a special discount of 50% off meals all day on October 5.

"Aiyara Thai Restaurant is a gem in Leesburg and their utilization of local produce helps fuel the local agriculture economy,” commented Ara Bagdasarian, chair of the Leesburg Economic Development Commission.  “We wish them the best for many more successful years to come."
