Blackthorne Inn presents Halfway to St. Patty's Day
Events, Restaurants

Blackthorne Inn & Restaurant/ Wolfe Tone's Pub is a hidden Irish treasure on the outskirts of Middleburg. This place is family owned by an Irish family, and you can definitely feel the ambiance when you walk in the door. This has been my husband's favorite place for years, but it truly showed it's greatness when we went last Friday.

We walked in about 6:00 and it was fairly empty. There were a few couples enjoying themselves on the patio overlooking the ducks in the pond. There was no one in the pub area, which we always go to since you really do feel like you are taking to Ireland with its brick walls, old wooden ceiling beams and relaxing bagpipe music in the background. A lady came over and greeted us in her Irish accent and took our order. (In later conversation, she introduced herself and mentioned she was the sister of the family who owned the place). As we were eating our appetizer (an incredible fresh tomato and mozzarella (large chunks of it!) salad with some greens and balsamic dressing) the chef came out and gave us a nod and a wave while having a quick chat with the bar manager. My husband caught a glimpse of a tray of going out to the patio and asked the waitress what it was. She said in her accent, "Those are Irish Nacho's" and walked away. She surprised us a few minutes later with a large tray of these Nacho's (my husband was ecstatic!). These Nacho's are homemade potato chips. The dip was made of Irish Bacon and homemade garlic sauce. It was to die for! Everything we ate that night was phenomenal and that topped with great service and a friendly atmosphere just made for an enjoyable evening. By the time we left, the pub was packed and the patio was completely full!

Blackthorne Inn & Restaurant and Wolfe Tone's Pub (the pub is part of the restaurant) is having their Halfway to St. Patty's Day celebration this weekend, September 24th-25th from 6:00-1:00am. They will have a live Irish band, Ceann, who is quoted as being "one of the greatest Irish-American bands on the scene today". They will have a full dinner menu and a special Irish Menu accompanied by Irish Draughts. (No one under the age of 21 is permitted).

This is definitely a party and a place you don't want to miss! Wear your Green! Click HERE to find more info.
