Speedy Green Car Wash Donates More Than $300 to SERVE in February

With the help of their customers, Speedy Green Car Wash of Manassas, Va. raised more than $300 for the local, community organization, SERVE, Inc. as part of a February charity campaign. Customers selected the SERVE fundraiser code when making their car wash selections and 20 percent of their total car wash service went toward SERVE. Loudoun County Welcomes Students to 2011 ‘Youth in Government Day’

From Loudoun County -- The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors welcomed participants in Youth in Government Day on Tuesday.

The annual event allows students from Loudoun County high schools to meet members of the Board and to learn about county government departments, including careers they might be interested in pursuing. 

In addition to attending part of a Board meeting, students are hearing presentations from representatives of county departments and agencies regarding local government services, processes and careers. Students also will tour the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility and the High Bay Building at the Fire and Rescue Training Center.

Salon Daniel Raises More than $500 to Help the American Heart Association

Salon Daniel collected the donations by asking their clients to wear ‘red’ on Saturdays. Salon Daniel donated 10 percent of the client’s total service to the American Heart Association.

We appreciate the support of all our customers who helped make the Go Red campaign such a success. Loudoun County Parks and Recreation will be holding a free community event on Saturday, March 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The event is the Springtime Sports and Healthy Living Fair, which will be held at the Claude Moore Recreation Center located at 46105 Loudoun Park Lane in Sterling, VA.

“Keep Leesburg Beautiful” Community Clean Up and Beautification Campaign Kicks Off on April 2, 2011

From the Town of Leesburg – The Town of Leesburg will kick off its annual “Keep Leesburg Beautiful” community clean-up and beautification effort on Saturday, April 2, 2011.  The kick-off event will be held at the Loudoun County Master Gardeners’ demonstration garden in Ida Lee Park, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The Master Gardeners will be on hand to provide tours of the garden and give gardening demonstrations. In addition, “Green Team” registration forms and litter collection supplies will be available for pickup.
