We Are Searching For Leesburg Community Bloggers!

Dear Leesburg community,

We are looking for community contributors for our Leesburg website!  Community producers contribute blog posts and photos to our WUSA 9 "Where You Live" Leesburg site.

What topics are appropriate?  Write or take photos of happenings in your community, fun happy hours or new restaurant openings, different events going on, festivals, or fairs.  Really, anything you care about in your neighborhood is what we are looking for. You can do pre-event promotional stories, or you can actually attend events and write reviews as well.  Anything that is an important issue or community news topic in Leesburg is welcomed----no story is too small!

Cops and Kids Event Coming Soon

From the Leesburg Police Department:

The members of Leesburg's own Fraternal Order of Police Stewart-Barton Lodge #70 will be conducting their second annual FOP Cops and Kids event on December 18th, 2010.

At last year's event the lodge ensured that several children in need had a very merry Christmas by providing a shopping spree at a Leesburg department store and a complimentary breakfast with Santa provided by Leesburg Moose Lodge #1041.  Most memorably, after receiving a gift from Santa, one of the boys threw his arms up in the air and exclaimed, "This is the best day of my life!"

Any individual or organization interested in making a tax deductible donation to this event may contact Lodge President Bob Thompson at (571) 436-3441.
