Person wanted for firing shots at Va. Federal Credit Union

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A person fired multiple shots at a Northwest Federal Credit Union building in Leesburg, Va, Leesburg police say. 

According to Leesburg police, the person fired shots at the credit union located on Battlefield Parkway between Dulles Greenway and Sycolin Road between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Police say numerous rounds were fired into the side of the building that faces Battlefield Parkway SE.

The bank was closed and no people were inside it at the time of the incident.

Pot-bellied pigs seen roaming in Leesburg

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A pair of pot-bellied pigs have been spotted roaming in Leesburg.

Loudoun County Animal Services are investigating whether the pigs belong to anyone.

Residents in the area of Gospond Lane and Hunts End Place in Leesburg have reported the pigs to authorities, but so far they have evaded capture.

Animal services describe the pigs as piebald in color (black and white). They are believed to be boars and have discernable tusks. One of the pigs also has a "U" shaped notch in its left ear.

The public is asked to be careful around animals they do not know and contact Animal Services at 703-777-0406.

Man gets two years for exposure at Leesburg rec center

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was sentenced to two years in prison after entering an Alford plea to exposing himself at a Leesburg recreation center in 2014.

According to prosecutors, John Hall exposed his genitals to three nine-year-old girls at the Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center pool on the afternoon of February 2, 2014.

The girls immediately reported the incident to a parent and described Hall as smiling "like the Cheshire cat" or the "Elf on a Shelf" during the exposure.

A member of the pool staff approached Hall and asked for his name. Prosecutors say he identified himself as "John Matthews", but staff confirmed his name as "John Hall" through records.

Hall entered an Alford plea on one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor on March 16. 2015.

Driver in Leesburg hit and run crash wanted

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A driver in connection with a Leesburg hit and run crash that happened on July 29 is being sought, Leesburg police said.

The crash happened in the 200 block of Wirt Street NW, according to authorities. The vehicle appears to be a newer model Chevrolet pickup truck, possibly a 2500 series with a tonneau cover on the bed, police added.

Md. arrested for 2011 exposure incident

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- A Maryland man was arrested for allegedly exposing himself to his daughter's friend while they were taking a picture, according to Leesburg police.

According to police, Leopold Gordijenko, 45, of Knoxville Md. was arrested in Maryland last week and extradited to Leesburg Wednesday on a charge of indecent liberties with a child.

Police say a person who lives outside Virginia recently contacted them about an incident in 2011. According to the person, their then-14-year-old daughter was visiting friends in Leesburg when they were approached by Gordijenko (the father of a friend) about taking some photos with him.

When the girl turned around to take the photo, police say Gordijenko exposed his genitalia towards her.

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSSA9) -- The father of golfer Billy Hurley III remains missing on Thursday.

Tuesday, the 33-year-old golfer broke down in tears during a press conference at Quicken Loans National when he told reporters that Willard Hurley, Jr., had been missing for the nine days.

Leesburg hit and run victim dies at hospital

LEESBURG, Va. (WUSA9) -- The pedestrian who was the victim of a hit and run in Leesburg died Tuesday night at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Fidel Antonio Cruz Villacorta, 57, of Leesburg, Va. passed away shortly before midnight, according to police.

Jose Pablo Hernandez Reyes, 47, was arrested and charged Monday night after police identified him as the driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado truck that hit Villacorta.
